Good Arqana result for Ammerland stud and LOPE DE VEGA

Last night, the three-day Select Sale at Arqana in Deauville came to a close with a satisfying result for Ammerland stud. The Dark Angel filly out of LOPE DE VEGA's half-sister LIGHT THE STARS offered with Lot 140 was acquired by Charles Gordon for €340,000, while Lot 410, a colt by LOPE DE VEGA out of MARGIE'S MUSIC (photo), was knocked down for €100,000 to German trainer Henk Grewe, who consigned for Cologne-based owner Eckhard Sauren.

The auction sale also yielded an excellent result for LOPE DE VEGA. Eleven yearlings sired by him went throught the ring and averaged a sale price of €223,182. Top seller amongst his progeny was a filly out of the Teofilo daughter Attractice Lady, whose dam line produced the current 2,000 Guineas runner-up, Wichita.
