LOPE DE VEGA's SWEET LADY takes G3 Prix de Flore

SWEET LADY by LOPE DE VEGA booked her first group win today in the €80,000 G3 Prix de Flore and, in doing so, became her sire's fiftieth individual group winner. Benefiting from a perfectly timed ride by Irotiz Mendizabal, the three-year-old, who is prepared by Francis-Henri Graffard for Gemini Stud, delivered a great run and knew to impress with incredible speed in the final phase of the race despite the soft going at Saint-Cloud's final straight. Coming from the rear of the pack, SWEET LADY rolled past the entire field like a freight train and clocked in after 2100 metres with a bit more than a length advantage.
