3yo BALTIC EMPRESS in winner's lane in France

Three-year-old BALTIC EMPRESS scored her first overall win yesterday at Compiegne after a series of very good performances that saw her in the paying ranks. The Nicolas Clement-trained filly had Stéphane Pasquier on board for a narrow win in the 1,600 metres Prix de Villers Cotterets that showcased her great turn of foot and fighting spirit.
The Kingman filly BALTIC EMPRESS is the second product of the Listed-placed BALTIC DUCHESS, a sister to Gr.1 Prix Vermeille winner BALTIC BARONESS, both granddaughters of the great BORGIA. She was sold for 350,000 at the Arqana August Yearling Sale 2022. The upcoming 2024 edition of the highly anticipated sale features a sister to BALTIC EMPRESS: Lot 69 is filly by the Derby-winning Arc winner SOTTSASS whose first crop will hit the racetracks this year.
